I recently entered my Mastiff dog,Max, in the proplan webminster contest. He was selected as one of the top ten in his group (working). There are 80 wonderful dogs entered in this round of the contest, so please check it out. And please vote for Max!! Winners are determined by the number of votes they receive. I would really like to win this contest for the following reasons. A few months ago, our once in a lifetime dog Kipper passed away. We were heartbroke. Even though we still had Max, who is wonderful, we started looking for a puppy, company for him and comfort to us. I came across petfinder.com and found the contest. This is a wonderful site with shelter listings nation wide and pictures of the available animals. It is so sad to see all these poor pets though. I found a pair of border collie puppies at a shelter where I had adopted our Kipper from eight years ago. We drove the 60 miles to pick one out and brought both home. We also were strongly drawn to an adult aussie/rott whose time was short. I told my adult son about her and he adopted her. She is a great dog, though she still has a few issues to work out. We puppy sit her when my son goes to work. Max, our mastiff, has really shown his true personality. He is a saint! At just a little over a year old he has taken over the job of mom, dad, and playmate to our new additions. Even to the older aussie cross. He is so gentle and patient with them. My intention if I can win this contest is to donate some of the winnings to our own county's small no-kill shelter and get them online with petfinder. The shelter operates largely on donations. We are by no means wealthy and just get by like every one else but I want to help our local shelter in saving some of these animals. If you are looking to adopt check out www.petfinder.com.
