Training tip

A friend of mine sent me this e-mail...it DOES make sense:
___________________________________________________________

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly.

For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper... and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,
"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

I had a very, very soft dog (the ONLY kind I would EVER do this with) who I taught to take a newspaper away from someone who made noise with it. I didn't want her to be scared if some fool ever tried to hit her with a newspaper. It worked almost too well, which is the reason I would only do this with the sweetest dog in the world--she learned to "attack" to get that paper, and all you could do was just give it to her, quickly!
