QUICK BREEDERS NEED HELP Eggs on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

guadofreak Oct 08, 2003 09:23 PM

Ok well due to misinformation i am not prepared for my eggs. I rcvd conflicting information and thought the 2 week mark was only for add'l clutches. Well mine is abotu 2 days shy of two weeks and i can see the eggs. I have not been able to get to the store to get vermiculate(sp?) and perlite or order my incubator.

What can I put in there tonight or is the humid hide sufficient? can it be regular moss? Also I can't get a Hova-bator in time. Any ghetto incubator i can make ASAP from a 24 hour walmart?

ugh..please help thanx!

Just because you can see the eggs doesn't mean she is going to lay them right now. Every female can also be a little different so there are no exact times just aproxamations.

You can get the vermiculite at a garden store or maybe even walmart. As for the incubator I would order it now. I don't know how build one but if you have to you could always put the eggs in a deil cup with the vermiculite and put the cup on the warm side of the tank you gecko is if you temps are good.

Mine generally don't lay the first clutch until 25-32 days after conception. Additional clutches range from 12-17 days. You should still have time. If by chance you do get eggs, put them in a deli cup with slightly moistened potting soil in a place where the temp should stay a constant temp between 80-88. You should be ok until your incubator arrives.

Her humid hide should be fine just add moist moss or vermiculite to itand make sure she isn't eating it.
