Meet Tanner...

Shes a WC from central Oklahoma, now just over 3 1/2 feet. We're supposed to have either Black Rats or Black/Texas intergrades here, with "true" Texas Rats confined to south of the Red River. But she looks very Texas-ish to me. Thoughts?
(This is my first attempt to post a pic on the forum, so we'll see how it works.)

If it is an intergrade, it is more Texas rat than Black rat.

Michael...Definately has TX influence, but looks like it has some black rat influence. I'd say intergrade. BTW, that's a beautiful snake and photo is well done. TC.

Thanks, Terry! I'm curious as to what you see that suggests Black Rat influence. We have lots of Black/Texas intergrades around here, but virtually every one I've seen, even at this size, is substantially darker than Tanner.

I was going by the general appearance at first. But to narrow it down, I'd say the closeness and number of blotches and the overall dark aspects on the lighter ground, especially around the head which seems to be a grayish black. It's only one pic, however, and other pics could show highlights differently. Also, I'm not any expert with TX rats
