My little bastard normal motley I got at the stupid monroeville show from some guy that ripped me off anyway hasn't eaten since the beginning of August (has never eatn for me) and MUST be in the single digit Oz. for weight...

Last ditch effort is going to be to "freeze" this little crap face so I was wondering if anyone has cooled down a snake like this before successfully and how it was done.

I've heard that a few months in the fridge does wonder for a spring time appetite?

P.S. yes, I have tried EVERYTHING to get him to eat. He has been force fed mouse tails twice, only once with vitamine supp.

I saw a post from Kathy a few weeks ago on it.Ive had my share of bunghole reamings from online purchases.It just fed yesterday,It didnt have mites when i sent it to you,it was just a little on the scrawny side,it never regurged when i had it.Ive heard them all.Im so lucky Homer my herp club breeds a little of everything,i have never had a problem when i buy from my Bro's.If i can get my Guyana's in the mood this winter there already sold.I wish you the best of luck buddy....Paul.

try soaking it in pediallyte all of the snake i have had that didnt want to eat have eating after i have soaked them in this. i leave them in it for a day, and then they eat like champs. try it.

Pedialite (or however you spell it)? What do you mean by "soak". How many times have you used this and what do you define as a true non-eater (99% of the snakes I've owned have eaten or struck at at least an ANOLE), my little bastard doesn't even fake interest in anoles. During force feeding he shows no reflexual swallowing (as my local herp dealer said he probably should/would)... *stares at freezer with evil grin*

by soaking i mean fill the deil cup up with no more than half the snakes body height,then put a small piece of paper towel in so the snake has something to rest on(so i doesnt drowend)leave it in there for a day or two. pedialyte does the same thing for snake that it does for human babies. it rehydrates them.i had two babies hypo babies i pickup last year that were non feeders and i tryed every thing to get them to eat and nothing then a buddie of mine suggested pedialyte(he uese it on his frogs) as they soak in it they drink it ,the day after i took them out they started to pound down food. i have used it on every thing that has stoped eating or hasent eating and it has worked for me. hope this helps

Try scenting a pinkie with raw chicken,try it with a live and a frozen.

The freezer is a bad idea.I always make stir fry outa my rejects.

russian hamster pinks? ,roborovski hamsters?....,chinese hamster?.....syrian amsters?.......peromyscus(white footed mice)......?..........fuzzy runted mice instead of a pink (te hair works alot of times...)......?.........live baby anoles?.......sceloporus (fence lizards)...?.......skinks?......

well.......today...I threw a batch in the freezer......ots of them$$$$$$$$ totally aztec opal,motey butter,at least 6 amel aztecs het lavender......and 2 or 3 miami het candycane.....
(add that up......((2 @$200 and 6 @$100....)

(add that to the other boatload that died or were frozen and or fed to king cobras.......and the 500 dud eggs..) you think you got it bad.....

well i did something like that when my little aberrant cal king wouldnt eat. i got it at a show for 10 bucks labled a reluctant feeder but what the heck 10 bucks. all i did was try and feed it a couple of times, it didnt eat but pooped like 4 times and shed. i turned the heat off so the temps got to like 65 or so, and covered it up for two weeks only refilling its water. in the two weeks it shed and grew an inch and then when i warmed it back up i didnt think it would ever stop eating. when i sold it to my friend i had it for like 6 months and it was about 15 inches when i got and about 30 inches when i gave it to him. so yeah cool it down, i would reccomend the fridge unless you know what you are doing but try the cool down thing and see how it goes
