Electonic Fencing?

fv9 Jul 31, 2003 01:38 PM

My 5 1/2 month old has become quite the digger and has figured out he can get out of the back yard by digging. I need to find a way to keep him in the backyard so he doesn't take off or get into the street. I do not like the idea of electronic fencing, especially since hes only around 8-9 lbs. However, it may be the only option. Any thoughts, ideas, suggenstions?

Thanks,
Quinn

A play area in the house for him would be one good option. Another would be a safe dog run just for when you absolutely must leave him outdoors, with the fencing firmly into a concrete base. If he's that determined to dig out of the yard, I wouldn't be optimistic about the effectiveness of an electronic fence. Plus, there can be negative effects on a dog's temperament from getting shocked when he's looking at or thinking about people or animals.
