Looks like he's making progress! Here's a picture I took the day that I got him, and then three pictures that I just took a few hours ago.
Just to recap on the story: I got Caesar at a show on September 21st with the suspicion that he had parasites. Yeah, yeah, not a smart thing to do, but he was such a gorgeous leo and I was willing to work for him. I've been very careful about quarantining him from the very beginning. He didn't have diarrhea or unusual stools, but you could still see in him that he wasn't healthy. I took him to the vet, and they confirmed that he had hookworms and coccidia.
So now, it's about two weeks after his first round of meds. He's shown a lot of improvement not only in his appearance (weight gain, colors going lighter) but also in his behavior. He is very alert and VERY feisty. When I touch him he waves his tail around trying to challenge me to fight. Right now, I actually like to see him act like that, because it keeps me optimistic that he'll make a full recovery.
I'm going to administer his second round of meds this weekend, and do another follow-up dose just in case before I take another stool sample to the vet.
