does anyone own blue tree monitors and how come none of them are c.b.?
They were only recently discovered, and a bunch were imported before they were described. I believe they clamped down on the importation of them now. (Correct me if I'm wrong!)
The adults now in your country should be paired up and bred, if possible. It will be awhile before CB appears, if at all, on the open reptile market. It takes time for the adults to acclimate to captivity, if they ever, and lay eggs, eggs to hatch, etc. Likely, the first clutches of babies will be retained or traded off amoungst breeders, for more breeding 'projects'.
Establishing a reptile in captivity is a long process. Especially a monitor, they are so misunderstood. Lone males might become available before any pairs or babies will. These are beautiful monitors. So are the black trees.
