white lip pythons

quikxlr8shn Oct 08, 2003 11:09 PM

I'm a recent owner of a male yearling white lip python. I was upset to find the white lip in such a sad state, with 6 ticks, dehydration and two types of parasites. Can any other WLP owners tell me what kind of diseases or any health problems these pythons are more likely to suffer from, so I can keep an eye out. Are WLP all imported? thanks

Jeremy

I held some snake at the zoo once that was a gorgeous irridescent gray almost...small head, and very very smooth. I could barely hold on to it! I've seen a few pictures what were labeled as white-lipped or D'Albert's snakes.... Could that be right? Are these two the same type of snake as you have?

I don't think they are all imported, but I bet a majority are. I have a nice young male...well nice as in color. He bites and musks and bites no matter how much handling. Check for respiratory infections as those can always be a major concern. Here is a pic of mine. Andy

I suggest you also post in the Python Forum. Wulf will probably respond. Scan the discussions there on white-lipped pythons. You can pick up some helpful information.
