Well we have some good news, some great news and well there is no bad news !!!!
Mr. Quest today showed me that he is the show dog that I wanted him to be. Had 2 UKC shows in one day for a total of 12 hours at the show site and the news is ---------------------------------
Quest took BOB both shows for 2 majors and a Group 2. It was some great competition as the 2 adult males he beat have both beaten Purl many times. Both judges told me it was his movement that made the final decision and I am busting at the seams
This for a 16 mth old puppy that went through a bad ring scare. He held his stack never moving a foot but he did duck his butt a little. Give us another month or 2 of practice and I think we will have that fixed as he was so relaxed that between times in the ring he even went to sleep in his crate then would come out stretch and suddenly just be on and bouncing around. I did drop him out of the competition when we went in for group on the first show because there was 3 dogs that were trying to fight and I did not want him to have a bad experience so I took him to the corner and just worked on his attention, which moved him into a position of being blocked from the judges sight, but I don't care- he ignored the other dogs and held his stack.
The show went so late that I only was able to get 1 show pictures as it was dark when they were finishing the last show and I did not want to pay for pictures that would be all dark for the second show. I have decided that if Quest can do as well at his next show I may have to take him out on tour to sign autographs
