Peanut Butter and Puppies??

gojisho Nov 20, 2003 06:23 PM

I have really learned alot from the internet. I have several toys that Gretal (11 week old Puppy) enjoys licking the inners out of. I read that after she finishes licking the middle out of the toy, I can clean it and put something in its place. There is a toy called a kong and they suggest putting peanut butter in it. Is she too young for that?

I wouldn't recommend giving peanut butter yet. Maybe melted cheese then freez, then give it to your puppy. Just make sure that when you give something to chew on you do not leave your puppy unattended

I wouldn't give peanut butter at her age. Maybe some wet puppy food, then freeze that would be better even than cheese. I would think she will enjoy that too. Be careful, dachshunds can definitely have a weight problem.
