Wow! What an agility weekend!

CharStuff Dec 10, 2003 03:10 PM

I cannot help but brag about my agility weekend with Reata! OMG! This dog is so talented and smart! First off, its a heck of a lot of work when my club hosts an event. This was a NADAC trial. Friday morning loading the equipment out of storage into the truck, hauling up to the fairgrounds unloading and setting up. This was done, btw, in the rain! We didn't have rain until then! Anyway, Saturday and Sunday were windy but thankfully no rain!

So, Saturday we were entered in Gamblers, Jumpers and Novice Regular round 1 and 2. We didn't get the gamble, but got a 4th in jumpers (knocked a bar) and a first and qualifying ribbon in both of our regular classes!

Sunday, we didn't get the gamble, but got a first and qualifying ribbon in our first regular run and a first in our second regular run! She got a little goofy and blew a few contacts. But, I'm absolutly thrilled with how things went! What a gal!

Unfortunately, the photographer didn't get any pics of her! So, here is one from our last trial.

A Dog Owner's Prayer

Oh Lord, don't let me once forget how I love my trusty pet.
Help me learn to disregard canine craters in my yard.
Show me how to be a buddy even when my sofa's muddy.
Don't allow my pooch to munch postal carriers for lunch.
Shield my neighbor's cat from view--guide my steps around the doo.
Train me not to curse and scowl when it's puppy's night to howl.
Grant I shan't awake in fear with a cold nose in my ear.
Give me patience without end--help me be my dog's "best friend".
