my Beagle eats his poop...please help!!!!

huyzer Dec 11, 2003 11:39 PM

Hello to all who reads this, as well as thanks in advance to the responses.

My 6month old beagle has this nasty habbit of eating his own poop. I don't catch him in the act but since he's still being house trained, his accidents in the kitchen (that's were we keep him)leaves an outline of what should be there. This is very troubling for me.

what can i do to stop this.

Hi,

I really can't help with advice on how to stop this behavior when you aren't home. I do know it is a common thing with dogs to eat poop. I have a dog that likes to eat poop when it is frozen. No idea why she does it. They only thing I think you can do is to clean it before he has a chance to eat it, but that won't help when he does it when no one is home.

Maybe someone else will have some thoughts.
