Hello, my name is Howard Margolius. I am currently trying to repeal Denver’s Pitbull Ban. Please sign my petition at http://www.3dink.com/savecyan.html and help save pitbulls!

I am currently talking with City Council and if they don’t listen to the 1000s of pages of research/facts about breeds I have presented them, I will be forced to sue the City and County of Denver.

Two months ago Animal Control came to my house and threatened to arrest me if I didn’t give up my dog.

In the 4 years she’s been alive, not once had there been a complaint about my dog, in fact everyone who meets her loves her. Being a responsible dog owner, I raised her right with love, and she would only lick you to death!

They took her and threatened to kill her purely based on HOW SHE LOOKS, giving me just 3 days to move her out of the city.

I did move her to Broomfield for 2 months, until I could find a place to move. I now have moved just 2 miles to Englewood where pitbulls are legal. I live just ONE block away from Denver. Silly isn’t it? I gave up my house of 6 years that I was planning on buying to save my ‘child’ and am very passionate about this.

In my research the past few months, I have obtained the help of a group named the American Canine Foundation. They have gotten the law changed in other states and have all the facts, genetics scientists, expert witness, etc to win this.

The law that was passed 15 years ago is unconstitutional and needs to be repealed. It is similar to racial profiling.

Dangerous Dog Laws are what protect the public, not bans…obviously, the woman in Elbert county could have been saved had Animal control done their job last year and enforced the Dangerous Dog Law. Criminals, dog fighters, even irresponsible owners don’t follow the law, so a ban does nothing but give the public a false sense of security. It is the owner of the dog, not the breed or dog that needs to be punished. Stiffer penalties for dangerous dog owners are the answer.

Please read about me and my dog, the American Canine foundation, and positive press about the breed here - http://www.3dink.com/savecyan.html

Click the boulder weekly link, it’s a very good, unbiased article. The head of Animal Control even truthfully admits how wrong this law is, how Rottweilers are the #1 culprit of bites yet they arent banned.

Thank you all so much!
