My new baby

paulinenz Jan 03, 2004 06:04 PM

Hi
This is my new baby, Jill, she is 8 weeks old BC/JRT - lol. I have anotehr JRT called Jack so now have Jack and Jill. She is a stubborn toileter. Was outside for nearly an hour at 4am and she still wouldn't wee. I have bought a crate today so I can confine her but not sure how this crating works. Jack is very good with her but I wouldn't want to risk leaving her alone with him in the house. When Jack was a pup he weed every time I took him out but Jill seems to be able to hold hers for hours and doesn't have any set time, same for pooping. Any help re the crate thingw ould be appreciated

What a beautiful baby! I have a four year old JRT/Whippet mix, Boyd. The crating thing worked great for me! I had to carry the crate to the door, though, because he was so excited when it was time to get out(especially in the am). This also helped reinforce that going to the door also meant going potty. Good luck with Jill!

LOL boy she is like a tornado. She has settled down beautifully and the toileting is going well now. We haven't had many accidents in the house but then I keep taking ehr out. She likes the crate for sleeping at night and usually i only have to get up once to take her out. She seems to be able to play and play and never sleep during the day and from 5pm till 9pm she is dynamite, really hypo. She is getting on very well with Jack and he is lovely with her. Yesterday she snuck into my computer/sewing room and stole my quilting hoop and dragged it down into her basket to chew it, was so funny so ahd to take a pic
