Terrier Agility

I am really very proud of my Australian Terrier. He is only 1-year-old and is doing very well in training for Agility. People kept telling me that terriers don't do well in Agility because of the amount of off-lead training necessary. They also kept telling me that at 15-years-old I wouldn't be as good of handler as many adults. I am so happy to prove many people wrong. In our advanced agility class this past fall, everyone was impressed with how well my dog and I worked together. "Bonzer", (Australian slang for "Awesome", is so attentative and gives me constant what I like to call "check-backs." He has awesome eye contact and I am so please with him. I just wanted to share a little bit about terrier agility and to prove that all breeds, ages of dogs, (and people!), can do agility just fine! I hope to be posting back more this summer with some more bragging rights!!

Congratulations!!! I have never heard that terriers don't do well with agility. I've seen alot of JRT's in agility and they seem to do fine.

I also don't understand why someone would say a 15-year-old can't do something well. ANYONE can do anything they chose when they put their mind to it.

Good luck in continued agility and have fun!!!

P.S. Got any pictures??

Wow! I applaude you and your dog! Our agility club loves junior handlers. Keep up the great work and I would love to see some pics
