I'm just wondering everyones opinion or x-rays and ultrasounds of a pregnant dog. Which do you prefer and why? How many actually get either done? Thanks

I only xray if I suspect problems, i.e. puppy placement, large on one side and not the other, or if I suspect one big puppy or too many in the litter.
Don't do ultra sound as its pretty expensive. The only pro to ultrasound is that it can be done far earlier (I think about 35 days) than an xray (last week of pregnancy).

Thanks a bunch I'm leaning against both right now. The main thing I want is to confirm pregnancy and with that, time will tell. My golden is 21 days today. I Ithink I'll bring her into the vet at 28-30 days for just a general exam. Do you think this is nessecary? She was at the vet before breeding and was deamed completely healthy. Thanks
Have you spoken with your breeder/mentor about this? She would be in a position to know the line and its traits.
