One year old shakes, dislikes males and kids and has bumps on back.

Oh my, where do I begin? I wanted a mini-dachshund so I went to find a breeder on the web. Long story short, I actually ended up at a puppy mill. I didn't know it at the time until I told my vet tech friend about my one year old doxie who was with a bunch of yorkies, corgies and horses. The "breeder" gave me one paper and I don't even believe it is his. Habing gotten a himilayn from a breeder, I just assumed that dog breeders were a little more "rough" than cat breeders.

So, Onarga (that's his name) is a love bug. But he only loves me. Doesn't like my husband or our my step-children (7 and 3). He also shakes, eats my unmentionables and has white bumps on his back with hair loss.

Anyone have any idea what I can do to help him adjust?????

Kristin

Hi Kristen and welcome,

I'm sorry to hear about your poor boy. I'm not a behavorist or vet, but I'd suggest having your husband and kids do everything for him for a length of time. I mean have them feed him, give him treats, have them take him outside. Maybe if he has to rely on them for everything, he may come around.

I don't have any thoughts on the bumps. What does your vet say?

Do you have a picture of your boy?
