Ryan

Our puppy is 13 weeks now, but when we brought her home she did the same thing. You will have to stay strong in your routines and she will adjust.

We recommend you take a look at "Dachshunds for Dummies", it helped us out a lot!

Good luck with your new addition!

Ryan,

Get a really soft lambskin type thing and a ticking alarm clock. Wrap the clock well in the lambskin. My folks did this and it worked well with Candy. Seems she just missed the sound of moms heartbeat. Can't hurt to try it.

Dogs come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.

Lots of dogs have done this, yes. You must be more persistent in ignoring her than she is in making noise! You are dealing with a persistent breed. It takes a lot of persistence to do what Dachshunds were bred to do: hunt badgers down into their holes and kill them.
