I personally use Eukanuba (large breed puppy formula), it is a really good quality food and you end up with a lot less to clean up. We also use Eukanuba (low res formula) at the vet clinic where I work with great results. I hope you get the dog, we need more good owners out there.

Agreed with finding more good owners.

But I have to say something. Eukanuba is also owned by Iams so in theory you are buying the same quality of food.

Next I will say ONLY AND ONLY use large breed formula when you KNOW the dog is going to be a large dog meaning 75-80lbs or larger.

Otrheriwse you are causing the dog to be deficient. The main difference in the food is that the large breed formula has less fat and calcium etc that a large dog won't need in such a short time during growth periods.

Smaller dogs burn fat faster and utilize calicum etc more efficiently than large dogs. So when food for smaller dogs is given to a large dog it over load the large dog with extras that express joint problems etc as the dog will be growing too fast for its own good. It being larger also has a slower metablism and fat in the food willl hang on to the dog longer giving the dog extra weight causing further joint, etc problems....

See. There is a reason to everything and we put a great deal of time when researching animals..

I have done research work on animals for a few yrs and found it very interesting. But that is the theory behind the why.
