Check with your veterinarian to see when it's okay for your puppy to start puppy class. Most people need someone to show them how to do this properly, and the class will certainly include it. If the wait is going to be longer than a week or so, consider having a lesson with a private trainer.
Basically you want to stop the mouthing every single time the puppy starts it. You want to be gentle so you don't scare the dog, firm so you don't make the dog think it's a game, and keep your body still so that you don't continually trigger the dog's prey drive.

Annabellesmom, I don't have a lab, I have 3 shiba inu's, however it is still best to stop behavior very quickly. Does the nipping only occur during play or does it occur all the time?
This is a very common and natural behavior with puppys. If the nipping happens during play, then a gentle but firm no and a quick end to play time would be in order. You could also try keeping the leash on the puppy if the nipping happens all he time. This gives you a little more control over the pup. When she nips at you or another gently pull the puppy away with the leash and give another firm no command. You may have to repeat this process many times before she gets the hint. Good Luck with your new pup!

If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went.
that happened to us. all i can tell you is to keep correcting him and eventually he should stop. ours is 11 mos and he just started to cut back!! it's a play thing but we correct him every time and i think it's sinking in!
Labradors are very mouthy - definitely good to correct it now. Mine was a rescue because her first people didn't.
Be consistant! Gentle closing of the mouth by wrapping your hand around the pups muzzle and a firm "No teeth". At such an early age it shouldn't take long. Make sure everyone the pup is around does so as well.
Might be good to avoid tug of war games for a bit until the pup understands that grabbing is a no-no...
