Mondio Ring

Am considering Mondio Ring for my Dutchie. Anyone currently competing in this new and coming sport and your ideas as compared to IPO, SchH, French Ring, and KNPV? I would love to hear/share your thoughts, ideas, and experiences.

I don't know much about Mondio, but here are a few links that have more info on it:
Mondio Ring
United States Mondioring Association
Mondioring International Web Site

It sounds like a really fun and interesting sport. The photos on the US Mondio site are funny with the "props" they use during trial.

How is your Dutchie coming along?

A Dog Owner's Prayer

Oh Lord, don't let me once forget how I love my trusty pet.
Help me learn to disregard canine craters in my yard.
Show me how to be a buddy even when my sofa's muddy.
Don't allow my pooch to munch postal carriers for lunch.
Shield my neighbor's cat from view--guide my steps around the doo.
Train me not to curse and scowl when it's puppy's night to howl.
Grant I shan't awake in fear with a cold nose in my ear.
Give me patience without end--help me be my dog's "best friend".

To make a long story short, it is going to take A LOT OF TIME AND WORK. Doesn't matter what you do. expect to do about 2hrs of work a day at the very least. You know? You have to be VERY involved in the dogs you bought( er got free)s life.

KNVP isn't very common but is here in the states. NVBK is also very uncommon. These are almost 90% done in Europe. They are very strict in these countries and the Americans haven't caught on to what the Europeans are doing. They are VERY in tune with their dogs.

The pup I have no whas nothing but KNPV in every parent in her lines. She is what you call a very capable working dog. Even if you don't want it to be a working dog, you have no chioce but to train and work the dog as it's genetics are too strong to turn it into a "housepet". Yeahright, good luck in making a working dog a housepet....lol....

It is bred to WORK. and that's what its going to do whether you like it or not. If you leave and don't put her away. She'll/He'll assign jobs and go into your belongings like your couch with the full drives of its ability to destroy the couch as it does when using all of its ability to apprehend a criminal, think intensly like in the KNVP or any of the sport trials, etc. SHutZ does not make the dog think. You go and EVERYTIME you go its the EXACT same EVERY time. That is not thinking. KNVP you don't know nor the dog knows what the hell is going on until you are given the instructions 5 minutes before the event and you are to go in. So, you have to be in TUNE with your dog as it in you...

All in all have fun. I love a working dog. I really do...
