Hello... introductions

Purball Mar 14, 2004 02:04 PM

Hi there, I'm new to the Golden Retriever forum, I'm a regular in c*ts though (hehe)
My name is Sara, I'm 16 years old (just to let you know now) and I live with my 4 pets (not to mention 4 brothers and my parents). We have two golden retrievers, Macintosh and Finnegan.

Macintosh is 6 years old, he's not really your tipical golden (looks I mean, his personality is perfect) he's got a really wide chest, and thin rump, his legs are very skinny, and his back is square, his head is really tiny and his fur is thin with alot of curls. He's definetly not your poster-perfect golden in his looks, but he's the sweetest most caring dog ever. He loves the water, his family and most of all, FOOD!
Macintosh...(not a very good picture of him, but all the rest he's got a kitten with him... he's taken to 'adopting' our new arrivals... quite sweet really!!)

Finnegan is 1.5 years, his registered name is Terals Sara's Little Shadow (We're not sure of Macintosh's registered name as he's strictly a pet...) I am planning on taking him to handling classes as soon as we find some after we move (probably within the month) He's a real sweet heart, and VERY pretty. Although he doesn't like the water a great deal, he does love to play, fetch and be scratched on the belly. Finnegan is a beautiful dog, and I have high hopes for him- I guess we'll find out in about a month or so if he'll ever be a champ!!

We also own two cats, Casey is a male orange tabby, 8 months old. Banff is a female tortico who is 9 months old. They are best buds, and adore the dogs to no end (Macintosh especially) they'll sleep with the dogs and play with them all the time. Casey actually thinks he's a little mini-golden himself.

Thanks for listening..... what are YOUR pets like?????
(Below is Macintosh 'fostering' our new cats/kittens....)

I guess it cut that part of the message out, but I had noted that the 'stack' Finnegan is in isn't very good at all. There are a number of problems with it...not going to list them all, so I'm just going to tell you that it's strictly lack of training and grooming (hehe) It was just in our living room; teaching FInnegan to stay where we put him, most of the error is my fault!! Anyways.... love to hear from you guys.,

Hey Sara! Read this after reading the above thread, so going to go on and on about the undescended testicle...hope I don't bore you..LOL
I see you are planning on taking Finnegan to handling classes...are you aspiring to show him in AKC shows or??? The reason I am asking, is that cryptorchid dogs cannot be shown, it is considered a disqualification in the show ring. You can still take classes fo course, I am sure he would love the bonding time! Maybe even agility for him? I bet he is an active boy. Good luck, just wanted to give you a heads up!!!
