Puppy nightmares?

katie_and_gabe Mar 16, 2004 05:14 PM

Our little Bailey sure is growing fast!

One thing I have noticed when she is napping and we are near is she will shake and whimper after being asleep for a while--kind of like she is dreaming. Sometimes she will yelp and wake herself up. I just wanted to make sure it isn't anything to be concerned about.

She is doing 100% better with potty training, and I have even gotten her to understand sit! Still need to work on STAY! though

Hi we have a 15 week old female mini named Savannah. We have posted before. Savannah has similar trembles... not so much at sleep time but when she is in a new environment. Sometimes it seems to take her 10 minutes or so to stop trembling. The vet says it is just puppy stuff... and not to worry. But I still do... can't help it.. she looks so pathetic!

Glad to hear you are doing great with house training. We are doing 50/50.... she even refused to go out last weekend at all. But when it was potty time, i would bring her out when she refused to go, I crated her for 15 minutes at a time, brought her outside again until she finally went outside. She will go outside now... but still is leaving presents inside. Please let us know what your routine is with your dog

We would like to post a picture of Savannah for everyone to see... is there any way to just attach a picture or does it have to be on a website?

We are having her on a pretty strict schedule now, and we feed her twice a day. She does really well when she has to go--she will sit by the door. Sometimes we don't see her and she will potty on the floor, but most of the time we see and she goes outside and we give her a treat.

You can post pictures on this website through this link:

Its up above labeled "photo gallery". Then you can read the section "Tools and Toys" to the bottom right of your post window to see how to add a image inline!

Sounds like our little dogs are only weeks apart; Gretal being the elder of the group.

Gretal trembles on occassion, for no appart reason. We think she is cold and she loves having warm blanket over her. I love that little pumpkin. Some times I think she knows exactly how to get extra attention!!

I read a post recently stating that some new dog owners had left the site. I think maybe I was one of the owner they were refering to. NO, I have not left the site and Gretal is 28 weeks old and doing very well after her hysterectomy.

She is a dream and potty training has been successfully accomplished. Granted, we are faithful to an aggressive schedule. We have noticed, she is able to hold herself longer as the months go by.

Gretal can now go to bed with us at 9:00 p.m. and hold herself to 7:00 a.m. without a problem. Some mornings, she does not like being taken from under the covers!! We watch what she eats and we know her cycle. She is able to hold herself longer during the day as well. She is a gem...

Kathy

PS
I have had trouble figuring out how to post a picture. Gretal is an ALL black miniture Doxie. I would love for you to see her.

Kathy, here is how to upload a picture of your baby!

First, click here:
url=http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.pl?cat=561&thumb=1 Then click the 'Upload Photos' link above the red part that says Pet Hobbyist photo gallery.
(Or alternativley you could click here to do it directly: http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/upload_form.pl?cat=561 I think that should work.)

Fill out the information, and then hit the browse button to select the file that is on your computer. Hit the 'Upload/Submit' button and everything shoudl go fine. You will get a "Your image was uploaded successfully!" message. Then you will be automatically forwarded to the next page where you can see your image.

Now, after you have uploaded your picture--when you try to post a message down at the bottom you will have a new option: "Select Image from Photo Gallery:" Choose the picture (if you have multiple ones) that you want us to see!

I hope this helps!
