My lab's new habit of pouring water to lie over

ranga___n Mar 17, 2004 01:32 AM

Hi

I've a 3 month old lab, and I live in South part of India. It is becoming very hot now-a-days (35 degree celcius) and my dog has mastered a technique of pouring in the water in his bowl on the floor and lying on it. The dog stays in complete shade all the time.

I was told by a some of my friends that this is a bad habit and may result in infections.

Can anyone tell if this will result in infection and if so, any techniques to overcome this habit.

We have a kiddy wading pool we put ice or water in for the dogs to lay in. Our dogs have never gotten an infection. This is new to me.

Dear Jaime Marie

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I spoke to a couple of frineds and also checked with "Ask The Vet" and they share your thought.

Thanks for your input. Glad to know that it is not a real "Bad" habit after all for my LAB
