Finnegan new to rainbow bridge, March 16th.

Purball Mar 18, 2004 01:56 PM

Hey guys... thought I should just tell you that on March 16th, Finnegan was struck by a car on the highway and was killed. Our neighbors went into our backyard to fetcha a stray hockey ball and did not close the gate. Both dogs left the yard, Macintosh was un hurt- physically. However, his emotions are irratic. He does not play anymore, and he will not wag his tail or even look happy. His behavior is so far from the norm it is scary. We all miss Finnegan a great deal, and yes, we were hopeing to show him in CKC shows eventually. This is a great blow to our entire family and I hope you all understand that I won't be posting here for a while... Not that I've been here for very long OR that anyone posts here often anyways...
Thanks

Your welcome. You remind me of my best friend's little sister. She is also home schooled and into animals. Her animals are horses though. They have a huge household. There are five girls aging from 15 to 29. And 3 boys. Two are step. The other boy is 14. They have 9 horses I believe, six dogs, two cats, two birds (African grey and some other talking bird), rabbits, ferrets.......It's a regular zoo over there. For some reason you with all the brothers remind me of that sitution haha.
Besides all that your fun to chat with!

>>How are you doing? Holding up ok? how is Mac? Is he doing any
>>better?

Thanks Jamie for being such a good pal... I'm doing fine, things are so different around here... only 1 dish to fill. One dog to walk, I close my eyes and turn my head every time we have to pass that place on the highway (my house is being shown so we have to leave often...). Macintosh is doing better, we went to a freinds house today while ours was being shown and he seemed to be relieved to be away from our house- I know the feeling. I think he's going to be okay. We have to keep a close eye on him though as he tends to get depressed after loosing a close friend (when we moved here he missed his 'day-care' buddy, another golden named Elmo- really he just went over to play a while since Elmo had gotten depressed from his OWN brother dieing... very complecated lol...point is he gets depressed easily...) so lots of walks, lavishing attention etc. This is such a hard time. Nothing like this has ever happened before... Jasper died, but he was expected (brain damage etc.) so it was a little different as his death was more of a relief of the pain for him. Finnegan had been so alive... so VERY alive that day. It really pains me to think about it.

Any word on when you are leaving/moving?

Purball Mar 19, 2004 01:20 PM

>>Any word on when you are leaving/moving?

Well, our house is up for sale now, so it's only a matter of time...as soon as we get an offer, about two weeks after that- we're 'outta' here!

*sigh* it's been too long talking and not doing, I'm so ready to leave!!!

Your family moves alot doesn't it. It seems strange to me. I grew up and lived my first 18 yrs in the same town. Oh wait my mother still lives in that town(34 yrs she has been there), so home is there. Even though I have traveled. btw I am 28.

Wow, I've always wondered what it would be like to stay in one place my entire life; and have friendships that last forever. It really sucks having to move around so much as most of your friends just drift off, and don't keep touch.

I actually have few friends left from my school days. Most of my friends now I have made in my "adult" life or are from college. I have two friends from when I was little that I still see. They both still live in my home town. The rest are all gone.
