Gretal is back sliding

gojisho Mar 30, 2004 08:28 PM

Hello All,

Gretal just turned seven months this past week and we have had four accidents in less than seven days. She actually pooped in my bed this past weekend (I caught her in the act! I will spare you the details)! Tonight she peeded at the bottom of the steps. The two poop accidents were loose stools; I don't know what she must have eaten, but the peeing has me confused.

Just when you begin to relax and think she has the hang of it? I feel like I did the first week we got her.

A discouraged mom,
Kathy

Kathy,

Don't get too discouraged. You will have setbacks occasionally. You may also consider having her checked to make sure there are no medical problems. Have you had her spayed yet? She could have a urinary tract infection, maybe gotten worms again.

My folks mini had small accidents up until she was a little over a year old. She still has the occasional, and I think all dogs do that.

Just keep working with her! She will get there.

Dogs come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.

Sounds like the accidents are due to some type of physical problem. Could be intestinal parasites, diet, or something else. Time for the vet.
