Health problems

SKBoyImBad Apr 01, 2004 08:53 PM

I was wondering if anyone has any information regarding soft palates in Golden Retrievers. I 2 year old Golden has just developed this problem as of 6 months ago.. and it has gradually got worse. THe vet will not operate until he starts passing out from lack of oxygen. What can I do? Where do I obtain more information?

Thanks,

Nikki

Nikki...sorry, I tried Googling, and found nothing significant to offer help. I would recommend a second opinion at the very least....a couple things come into play here, he is a senior dog already, and waiting until the condition worsens, will put him at greater risk for anesthesia as he ages...also, waiting until he is passing out from a lack of oxygen seems a bit extreme...what if he can get no oxygen, and were to die? I would ask your vet for his reasoning, and seek a second opinion....sorry I couldn't be of more help...good luck, and glow to your old friend...
