Well I got a better look at the turtle yesterday while cleaning the tank and I was wrong. It does not have red on it's head at all. It does have dark spots with the colors underneath. I had a teacher take some pictures with her digital camera and she e-mailed them to me but I don't know how or if I can post them here. I would be happy to e-mail them to someone who could help identify this guy so we are sure it get's exactly what it needs to be healthy and happy. I gave the list of items still needed to the teacher who does all the ordering for the class. Hopefully she comes back with everything we asked for, if not I'll do the shopping myself. Feeding in the bus tub worked out really well. It took a bit for the turtle to calm down but once it did it was reaaly neat to watch it eat. I am getting a little tired of "it" and "the turtle"....how do I tell what sex a turtle is? Thanks so much for all your help! =)
