Sentinal-vs-Heartguard? Any thoughts? I am currently using Sentinal but want to also us K-9 Advantix to keep skeeters from biting and Ticks off. I have asked the two vets that I use but I am not sure that I truly trust the push for Sentinal due to the higher revenue generated from one over the other. I would like to think that they have her best interest at heart but I also realize that they are running a business and want to make money.

Sentinel is Interceptor plus Program, I believe. I give my dogs Interceptor, but I consider Program useless. All it does is sterilize a flea after the flea bites your dog. It's just one more chemical you're putting in their body. If you're going to use K9 Advantix anyway, it offers much better flea protection than Program/Sentinel, because it kills the flea before it can even bite the dog.

Thank you for the input. That is exactly what I was concerned about (double duty on meds). This forum has been a great source of information for me. I really appreciate having a place to go to when I need some advise or just need someone to bounce something off of. Not to mention being able to share pictures of the apple of my eye. I can't help it, I am a proud worry wart mom. lol
