from last post, some more ????? IS THESE RARE? OR CAN BE ACHIEVE BY TEMPT. ADJUSTMENTS?

mikeflores Oct 09, 2003 09:27 AM

i got some responses on these from last time, i am just helping my friend out, he has a private zoo here.

people from last post told me that they got some of these in Bangkok. i just want to ask if these are easy to find morphs? are these predictable? can anybody help us because some of our collegues (although not croc experts) are saying that thhese colors can be achieved by adjusting the tempt from time to time and they are just ordinary porosus (meaning, these are just some croc that has a lighter color).

thanks in advance, maybe it'll be a big help if you can write on the reply your title? like if your a croc specialist from...

Nice looking animal, however they are not what I'd call rare.
I know porosus and many other crocodilians have the ability to change thier color to some extent from the surroundings and mood behavior, much like Chameleons, but to a very lesser degree..
The pics were from a pair of normal colored porosus and are housed together so I'm sure its a gene varient..

Its not too rare at Samutprakarn: 3-5 of 1000 hatchlings are light coloured like this individual. All of the "whites" I saw at Samutprakarn have been pure porosus.
