I'm Wondering if an am staff would fit what my family and mostly what my daughter needs...sorry, i'm a bit too lazy to retype it so i just copied and pasted. Please help!
My shep mix died a few years back, and my family is finally ready for another dog. We have a female bullmastiff who is three, Savanna. My daughter Jessica was very close to our shep mix that died, but my other daughter Allie has always been left out of the loop when it comes to our dogs. Shes is the youngest, so when we got our shep she was too young to bond with it...so my daughter Jessica took over. Savanna, our bullmastiff, is very close to my oldest son. ALlie is 14 and is obsessed with dogs...and always looking on petfinder.com for them. it breaks my heart how much she wants a dog that would finally actually like HER, not her siblings. We are looking for a breed that with bond extremely close with her and be very affectionate. Necessary things for the breed would include...
1. short to medium hair
2. small to medium in size...unable to have another very large dog
3. semi-active (we live in the city but with a large yard...my daughter allie is active and likes taking our dog savanna to the dog park, on long walks, out to coffe and on jogs- unable to have to high-strung of a dog though)
4. dependent on people...able to get very close to the individual that takes the most care of it and spends the most time with it.
thank you for your time...we are going to begin our search for a rescue dog as soon as we educate ourselves on the exact breed that will be perfect.
