Questions to breeders out there. What kind of health guarantees do you give to your buyers? Can someone send me an example? Also, do any of you sell your pups with limited AKC registration? Why or why not?

I use different contracts and guarantees for different situations. For companions, I guarantee against genetic defects that interfere with the dog's suitability as a pet. If verified by two licensed vets, one of my choosing, I replace the dog and/or refund purchase price at my choice. These pups are sold on limited registration and spay/neuter contracts. I do not give registration applications until I get the proof of spay/neuter from the vet. I often place perf/versatility prospects for free with trusted members of the dog community, generally people who have proven themselves with another dog. In these cases, because I do not charge them, I do not guarantee anything but the testing that was done on the parents and their suitability for certain tasks at the time of placement based on tests performed. I place these puppies as prospects only, as well, and do not guarentee them as anything but. I do not sell to show only homes, but I do let the versatility prospects go on full registration with the understanding that they will be shown as conformation is part of versatility. When a dog leaves here intact, generally I co-own it. If not, the person has already proven themselves responsible with other dogs.
