barking help

mefingas Jun 02, 2004 08:39 PM

Hi. I have a mini named Mina. She is almost a year old and she just started barking. It seems worse when my husband is away, every time our gate opens she starts barking and a loud noise wont distract her or even trying to get her to do tricks. Any ideas out there?

Tricks???? You do have a doxie right???

Hi,

My doxie is the worse of all my dogs; she barks relentlessly. The only thing that seem to work w/ her is a spay bottle filled w/ water. when she starts barking I spray her once and then usually only have to hold it in her direction to keep her quiet.
This has to be done every single time and is only a temporary fix at the time.
I don't know about your doxie but my doxie will not do any tricks. The only thing she knows and listens to is to "stay" and that doesn't last very long w/o me having to tell her again.

It sounds like training class would be a wonderful help to you with this dog. She's a handful!
