We have a very healthy 1 year old black with red highlights that seems to be losing his hair on his chest and stomach. Is this a natural part of development or some kind of health issue? Any help is appreciated.

Make sure that the vet does a skin scrapping to check for mange. Our pup was loosing hair. The vet said it was allergies and put her on steroids. The problem just got worse and he responded with more of the same. We went for a second opinion and found that not only did she have mange, the steroids had made it much worse. $500 later, she was all better.
