Hello! I'm new, my name is Jill and I have Hailey, the Pit and Sophie the Newfoundland. H is just about 6 months old and S is a year and a half. They're best best buddies and they love each other so much. They also have a guinea pig brother named Midnight.

I'm a dog groomer and my BF, the dogs, pig and I live in MN. Just thought I should introduce myself!

Are the dogs the same gender? If so get ready for trouble when the APBT matures. About the guinea pig, not exactly the best thing to keep around, I am sure the dog will be fine under supervision but when it gets older may be killed as it "acts", "sounds" and "smells" like a prey item. These dogs have high drives and that thing may kick it into gear when its mature. All in all you have to be careful. You got a great breed, just have to take all the precautions now. Its not a newfoundland (these are very docile across the board). It'll tolerate a guinea pig ALOT more than an APBT. I'd keep it away personally. Or do some heavy watching while they are both out.

Any questions feel free to ask...By the way, welcome to the site...

Wow... Didn't ask any questions or ask for any advice about any of my pets. Just posted a brief intro.

Before you assume that I know nothing about the breed, maybe you should get to know me a little better. I KNOW that a Pit is not a Newfie (possibly because I have one of each?), they are VERY different breeds... Where would you like me to start???? YOu just let me know and I would be glad to educate you on the differences in these two breeds.

Be assured that our dogs are never out with the guinea pig...I can see why you thought I would do that, though, since you assumed I was stupid from the beginning.

Now I guess I know why these boards aren't very active. New members won't stick around long if someone jumps on them as soon as they join.
