UPDATE on 2 found females...

trainertom Aug 03, 2004 05:19 PM

Good news, both were happily reunited with their rightful owner this afternoon. Unfortunately "worst case scenario" was confirmed.

The dogs were stolen out of their yard less than a week ago. The collars were intntionally removed and placed in their mailbox!! Can you believe the audacity of some people? Makes me sick. He had the papers on the dogs, and they were indeed American dogs. They were both from Heidelberg (GAG!) On the plus side, they want to do just enough protection work to ensure that this does not happen again, and I can't say that I blame them. In the meantime they are locking the pet door so that this opportunity cannot arise until proper precautions are taken.

Oh, and they go in for tattooing AND microchipping next week. Way to go for the people who actually LEARN from their mistakes. Maybe there are some good people left. lol

Hoorah!

I wonder how a GSD can be stolen? If you were to jump my fence my dogs wouldnt tolerate it and theyre not protection trained, theyre just territorial and also very dependant on me

I had a guy come into the yard and try and catch Sandy to wash her - idiot - and when I came outside the dogs had him pinned up against the wall

i pity the fool who would jump my fence

Ok guys......what's the scoop on Heidelberg Shepherds? You got me worried now. On my girls pedigree a couple of her grandsires have "Von Heidelberg" in their name?????

Thanks,
Katrina

Fear not, the issue with Heidelberg Shepherds is not so much with the dogs, as it is the crooked business practices that take place there. They went so far as to have their AKC privledges suspended a while back for studding inferior dogs out and registering the litter under ANOTHER dogs name. They also make ridiculous claims in order to sell their dogs. They actually tell customers that if you feed their food, your dog cannot get hip dysplasia. They have also claimed to be able to CURE this affliction. They also make the claim that their dogs are working lines who just happen to do fantastic at show. They may have show titles, but I have NEVER seen one of their dogs attain ANY working title. I bent over backwards for a customer trying to get a Schutzhund title on her Heidelberg male. We got the BH...but could NEVER get even the SchH I. Just a couple of crooks with a great line of BS and a beautiful facility. For more on these dogs you can check their website... www.heidelberg-usa.com
