Photo Gallery FAQ

Welcome to pethobbyist.com's Photo Gallery FAQ.

Do I have to register to view photos?

No, you do not need to register to view any of the photo galleries at pethobbyist.com. You do have to register if you want to upload photos to any of the galleries or post comments.

How do I register?

We recently upgraded to a 'Universal Login System'. This system allows you to have one username and password for all current and future password protected features of this website and all other Pethobbyist.com websites.

To register to post please go to http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/register.pl

How do I upload a photo to the photo gallery?

To upload a photo, follow these instructions:

Go to the Photo Galleries: http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.pl.

Scroll down until you see where it says Home, Profile, Upload Photos, and Login. This is just above the red header for the PetHobbyist Photo Gallery.

You will need to click "Login" and enter your user name and password.

Once logged in, click "Upload Photos".

Choose a category. We have a wide variety of categories for members to chose from. You can be very specific about where you put your photos, or you can put them in the Member Gallery. The Topic Galleries are reserved for just the animal that you are uploading. For example, a photo of a boa, could go in the Boa Photo Gallery. A photo of a dog, would go in the Dog Photo Gallery. A photo of you, would go in the Member Gallery, etc.

You will need to know where on your computer are your photos. Browse to your photos on your computer, and select the photo you wish to upload. Click ok. Photos need to end in one of 2 file types: .jpg or .gif.

You may enter a title, keywords, and description. That is your option.

Then click Upload/Submit.

Try to keep your photos of a smaller size. Many times a scanner or digital camera will make the photos huge. You may need to use a photo program to reduce the size.

What file types of photos can I upload to the photo gallery?

Photos need to end in one of 2 file types: .jpg or .gif.

Can I edit a photo once it is uploaded?

Yes and no. You cannot change the photo in any way. However, you can change the title, keywords, and description. Bring your photo you wish to edit up and click on the “Edit Photo” button.

My Photo Gallery is getting full, can I delete photos?

Yes. Bring up your photo you wish to delete and click on the “Edit Photo” button. At the bottom of this page is a box to click to Delete Photo. Just remember, once you click to delete the photo, it is gone.

How can I tell when my Photo Gallery is getting full?

You can check this by clicking on “Upload Photos”. Below the “Photo to upload” area shows how much space you have left. You have a total of 1MB free space.

How can I add more space to my Photo Gallery?

For $20 a year, you can increase your space to 10MB, for $50 per year you can increase to 25MB and for $100 per year you can increase to 50MB. To do that, click here: http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/index.pl.

Someone took one of my photos and is using it in their photo gallery. Do you have any rules about copyright?

Yes. Posting copyrighted documents or photographs here without the owner’s permission is a violation of the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you have an item that was used here without your permission, contact our Interim Designation of Agent to Receive Notification of Claimed Infringement.

I saw a photo that was offensive to me, what can I do?

Photos that violate our TOS, or photos placed in the wrong gallery can be reported to the Photo Gallery Site Coordinator by clicking on the “Report Abuse” Button below the photo. Please give an explanation for the reason you are reporting the photo and your email address. Photos will only be removed if they violate pethobbyist.com’s TOS or they may be moved if they are in the incorrect category. An email address is important in case more information is needed from the person reporting the abuse.

I guess I will post the three photos separately. They are in my user profile, now, too. Trying to figure out if this sweetie is part Rhodesian -- or maybe a Shep/Dobe?

Walking -- a bit cowed on my first night home! I get perky when the 99 cent squeaky toy comes out! I love to investigate but am afraid of men and some strangers. I get scared easily. Mom is taking me for several walks a day. I get lots of compliments on being 'mellow' and I just would like to know my origin!

Does look mostly like a German Shepard, but the body does seem to have the shape and build of an Ridgie. Not sure, but she sure does have a sweet face.

THanks, Cheryl. Now to get her to not be so wigged out by strangers and get her to focus on going potty. She has short attention span, is very skittish, and just won't go! The hurricane is getting closer so I'm going to have to cut her off of most food and water since she won't "GO." I'll bet it's the stress of this week and the fact that she is sensitive to my being stresed out over the hurricane.
Thanks!
Kim
