>>Hello. I'm new to this forum, I usually hang around on the Bearded Dragon forum. My husband and I have a bearded dragon rescue. We have been searching for a yorkie to rescue/adopt for over a year now. I have been watching the local shelters and humane societies without luck. I can't afford to spend $500 - $1000 one one from a breeder and besides, I'd rather adopt or rescue one. Does anyone have any advice on where I should be looking for yorkies? Maybe I'm going about this all wrong. I guess if there's a yorkie out there for us we'll hopefully find it! Thanks for any advice...

A responsible breeder is truly your best option. You can drop a lot more than $1000 real fast on medical care trying to save the life of a Yorkie from a bad source. You can save in the right way by adopting an adult dog from a breeder, perhaps one she kept for breeding who didn't turn out as needed for that. One thing you'll miss is the cost of all the puppy shots, and the breeder may have her spayed for her in advance, too. That is the right kind of savings.
