Thought everyone might like an update on the C-Man!
Caesars Vet visit today!
Today Caesar went in for his LAST puppy series, check up and rabies, and Max went in for his 3 year Rabies and his yearly HW test.
Here is the breakdown on Caesar first...
wt: 37 lbs
recieved last "5- way, w/ Parvo" and rabies
health; (eyes, ears, heart, gaited, joints manipulated, fecal test done, etc.) Excellent. Had no bloodwork done on this visit.
Behavior/Temperment: EXCELLENT! (Better behaved than Max! was interested in Office Cat, but quietly ignored.)
Already showing the slight aloofness, was "interested" (in meeting) other dogs but did not get overly friendly. SAT nicely and was well behaved!!!
Enjoyed meeting ALL of the human staff. Cried, whined and did the "melting act" when given shots, but recovered quickly and was happy with the staff afterwards.
Everyone just loved both the dogs! Max got to do his "Therapy work" and visit everyone who came in and showed an interest in him, Caesar actually acted more "settled" and reserved and "older" but once someone paid attention to him, he was a MUSH!
Did great rottie "leans".
There was a lady with a mini schnauzer who came in, who at first was TERRIFED at seeing two big Rotts, (especially Max who kept "whining" and vocalizing to go meet people) But she watched as other customers and staff came over and loved on the dogs!
She finally came up to us on her way out and said...
"I am actually pretty afraid of big dogs and especially rottweilers, but I overheard you talking how you did therapy work and now service dog work and those are the two most WELL behaved dogs I have seen!" THEN SHE PETTED THEM BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!!
YEAH!!!!! Another person shown that NOT "all" Rotts are "bad dogs!"
One of the vets (It's a multi vet practice with like 20 employees) was out there talking for like 10 minutes with me, about the difference between Service and Therapy work, and 5 of the staff there OWN Rotts, and both Max and Caesar got tons of compliments!
(Many were like "You trained them yourself?!? That is great!" kind of thing)
Except for the heat, and me being exhausted afterwards, it was great!
(I guess since it was Caesar's first time in, he got a FREE tube of Advantage and a FREE 10 lbs bag of Science Diet Puppy food, I told them to go ahead and DOnate it to the Local Animal Shelter since I donated my "free" bag of SD food, they gave me a FREE tube of Advantage for Max <G> Worthy trade since I don't use SD, nor do I feed "puppy food".
After 1 week (for the immunity to kick in) he is now cleared to begin going IN and socializing at all the stores and what not. We have his "I'm a Service Dog in Training" cape ordered!
PS: The results from the LAST aspirations came in from Max's last tumor check, and it was GOOD however, they just said he is "aging" rougher than most. While his eyes are very 'filmy' there are no signs of cataracts, and his heart and lungs are clear. They are not sure what the "trembling" on the right side is, unless we do alot more tests at a specialist. Since it only happens on exercise, we are going to be conservative and not do anything at THIS point unless it worsens.
A PROUD, happy but tired, "Mom"...
Warmly,
-----
Jackie & Max
