HELP! male marking territory in MY house!

BentleysMommy Sep 28, 2004 01:14 PM

I have a nearly 2 year old un-neutered male Yorkie and he has recently been marking his spot in my house... last night he peed on my spare bed. He sniffs, almost obsessively, EVERYTHING!My mom says its because I'm not giving him enough attention, I think its cause he wants to give something else attention!!
Anyone else had this problem before? What can I do to stop it? I'm renting a steam cleaner this week and am going to clean all my carpets and walls, but I am tempted to keep him in his crate when I cant supervise him. any tips??

Why is he not neutered? Your chances of fully housetraining an intact male Yorkie for the run of the house are not good.

Start with a "playpen" approach, so that he has a little room to play but is no longer allowed to roam the house. And unless there is a compelling reasons, have him neutered.
