Portland Fair Dog Show
On The 9th and 10th of October, on the Portland Fairgrounds in Portland CT will be the second annual Portland Fair Dog Show our first year was a big success, with positive feedback from Competitors and exhibitors. We hope our second year will be just as successful!
~Portland Fair Dog Show Is open to all dogs (including mixed breeds) ~All handlers must show proof of their dogs up to date Rabies vaccination. ~There is no entry fee, but handlers are required to pay to get into the fair. ~Dogs must not leave the designated dog area of the fair, but there is ample room for crate set up. ~ Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave ~All participating dogs will be awarded will a prize. ~ The show ring is completely fenced in. Activities Begin at 12:30 and go in the order Listed below.
Obedience- AKC rules apply, dogs will be asked to do all Novice routines. If you would like to a higher level of obedience you are welcome to do so. Parade of Breeds - This is a great way to introduce your dog’s breed to the public.You will be asked to lead your dog around a ring and then pose the dog on the ground or on a grooming table, an announcer will then explain the breed’s history, uses today, health, ect. Agility- This is the crowds favorite! A full agility course will be set up, weave poles will be optional, You may run your dog through the course as many times as you wish.
