pom thru drastic look change?

you see we finally found a little 'white' pup, it was over the internet, i found this website that a few of the breeders i talked to before advertised their pups on. it's 'puppyfind.com'. so my bf fell in love with this little dog that this breeder in the states was selling, it was just a month ago that we found the ad. and she had sent us thru email 3 pictures of this little dog. so we had put down a deposit and finally the full payment at the end of the month since he was quite costly. last night we were at the airport to pick him up and he looks totally different from the pictures she had sent us! i can send you the pictures she sent us before and i'll be taking digital pictures of him in a little bit if it will help with your analysis. i had called her today, but the connection was really bad, so the conversation was very broken and difficult. she told me it was because he was loosing his baby fur so he will look like a totally different dog, and she said that it will look like the picture again when he is a year old. he was born on 6-30-04, and i couldn't believe the change from now and the pictures before. to me the face looks totally different and the ears were stood up in the picture and now the ears droop down?

for all your pups, have this happened before? can there be such a drastic change in a month? i've been trying to research the looks of poms for the last 5 months, and i've never seen such a drastic change in the pups looks. i've been to pages were they put pictures of the pups as they are growing up, and various other things, but i've never found anything like this before. i'm a little confused, shocked and worried. any information would be helpful, thankz!

It sounds like you got hooked up with a dishonest breeder.

Unfortunately this happens more than people know.
When you buy on the internet you are purchasing sight unseen.
So you have a pic.
The person has a litter of puppies. They can send anything they want.
Not ALL do this but enough that I am surprised people still will buy a puppy this way.
You know the saying
Let the buyer beware.
I hope she was telling you the truth and that you have a puppy you love and will keep.
I would only purchase a puppy this way from a reputable breeder.
Not a puppy site.
Wish you the best of luck.
