Husband still misses ridgeback...

chrisnstar Oct 25, 2004 01:49 PM

Last May, our 9YO Rhodesian Ridgeback cross, Katie Bree, went missing. She was pretty much a homebody. I had let her out to potty and I had to go to the city to pick up my hubby from the hospital. When we got home, she was gone. our other dog, a black lab, was there, but Katie was gone.

We've looked high and low. Called all the neighbors, combed the ditches and culverts, walked and rode horse over acres of farm grounds, called and visited vet clinics, pet shelters, etc. Even got animal communicators involved.

To no avail. One AC told me Katie still is alive and with somebody, but couldn't give me enough information to find her.

It's been six months and even though we have two other dogs, the void left by Katie's disappearance is growing larger. My hubby really wants another one for his special friend. Katie was really his dog. At 105 pounds, she sat on his lap every night and they watched TV together...

We've tried a local RR rescue but so far have not been able to find a dog that way. We now are considering buying a puppy, but want to know about reputable breeders. We don't want to support puppy mills. We want to support people who bring a few quality dogs into the world rather than mass produce them.

We live near the Kansas City area. If anyone has ideas for us to help us find a Katie replacement (or better yet, if anyone knows where our Katie is...) please let us know...

From the bottom of our hearts, thanks...

Oh! I can't even imagine the hurt you are going through. Hopefully your RR just took up with someone else for a time and will return to you someday.

Good luck
Cheryl
PS please repost pictures they did not make it to your post.
Thanks

It's weird because the photos are there sometimes when I look at the post and other times not!

Hi!

The first picture and last picture came up this time. Why? I dunno.

What a beautiful lap dog. I had a 97# lap dog RR one time.

Ok try re reading the instructions and see if you missed a step. If it still doesn't work let me know and I will check with the Techies.
