Choc lab gets jealous of other dog, HELP!

wolves118 Nov 03, 2004 09:37 PM

I have a one year old choc lab and a 3 year old golden retriever. The lab is a huge baby and is always laying next to me if not on top of me while on the couch or in bed. Sometimes when the golden is laying there or comes up to snuggle with us the lab will get jealous and attack the golden. They are both males, I am not sure if that has anything to do with it. And he only does this with me and never my husband. How can I break him of doing this? My golden comes up by us to snuggle less and less as this happens. HELP!!

Both being males probably has a great deal to do with it. The Lab needs to be in training class. One thing you can do is get them on opposite sides of you and pet each dog with the hand on the side with that dog. But training is essential, especially with the pushy one.
