A good way to approach this is to figure out exactly what you are feeding your dog--the total of all treats and food--and take the dog to your veterinarian for an evaluation of his weight. The vet can then help you adjust the food as needed. It is a lifelong process of monitoring a dog's weight and adjusting the food intake, because dogs change as to how much they need to eat.
