Does this growth sound OK or too fast for baby Redfoot?

Linda G Oct 09, 2003 11:29 AM

My Redfoot is about 1 1/2 years old. I got him as a hatchling
and he weighed 50 grams. I weigh him monthly and this month
he weighs in at 275 grams. Thus, he has gained 225 grams.
Does this seem in line with others?

He eats like a pig and I am back to feeding him daily. I tried
every other and he/she was not happy! His shell seems pretty
smooth to me but I have nothing to compare with. A

Also, when can I accurately sex him? He sure is personable
little tort

Thanks
Linda

If the animal is healthy and not deformed in any way, don't even think about the rate. It means that you have an ideal balance between environment an nutrition. Whether this is good or bad is highly debatable.
