We have 2 cockatiels (1 & 2yrs) and this weekend will be adopting a 1yr dachshund. Looking for any advise with our situation. Sure we would like for them all to get along, but just would like some feed back. Or any past experiences.

My grandma has two african greys and three sharpeis that somewhat get along. They had the two sharpeis then got the birds. THey let the dogs go up to the cages and they never seemed to care one way or the other. But the new dog they got does not like the birds. They just keep her away from them for the most part. Maybe try to adjust the dog to them while they are both in cages.

Hi!
Congratulations on the new baby! I would recommend introducing them with the dog muzzled. Dogs are fast and you don't want a quick snap to happen. I hope things work out! If they can't get along, you may need to keep them separated. Remove the dog when the birds are out.

Dogs come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.
