ear infections

Well Butterball is going back to the vets this Thursday for another ear infection problem. We just got done having one in November, that one was a bacterial infection. I mention this to my friend (who is a vet)about this second ear infection and she say that could be allergy. Is this true? She was fine until she got hold of a xmas present with food in it, sausage and cheese. A week later after eating this no no stuff, the ear infection show up. Her first one last month was bloody, this time it wasn't - so figure I can take care of myself with some ear cleaning stuff I have. But I think it getting worst.

How can I stop her having ear infection? She is 13 years old, so surgery is out to fix it.

She needs the veterinarian's help. Possibly there is an underlying cause, such as a low thyroid. It could be, too, that the first infection was bacterial and this one is yeast. They are treated differently. She needs the vet.
