puppy drooling excessivly while laying down

aroach Jan 05, 2005 06:03 PM

Recently( as of yesterday) my puppy has been drooling heavily when he lays down. There a puddles of drool under him when he gets up and it comes out of both sides of his mouth.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with it or not but yesterday afternoon a co-worked gave a pork rib(just the rib, no meat) to give to him so I did. I noticed he was eating after about 75% of it was gone. he threw up that night after he ate his dinner and early in the morning he was a sort of dry heaving. He did the dry heaving thing once more the next day and his drooling was excesive.

Does any one have any ideas?

Thanx

Acute pancreatitis comes to mind. I would get him to the vet, pronto.

I have done some research on that online and he doesn't seem to have nay of the symptoms. He is eating fine and moves his bowels(?) fine. Thats is always a possibiltiy though. Thanx for the thought.

We brought him to the vets yesterday and it turns out it was prob. just something in his gums or he got poked in the guns, prob from the bone he had. The vet rubbed something on his guns and I woke up today with no drool on the bed.
